Jin-ho Yu
Jin-ho is a laid back and quiet kind of guy under normal circumstances, never really coming out of his shell unless he’s around his family or close friends. That said, he isn’t a push-over…anymore anyway. As a teen he tended to be more wallflower-esque and his best friend Naoko got away with pulling him into trouble more times than not. As an adult he’s more comfortable putting his foot down.
He is the eldest of three kids in his family (his younger siblings being the twins, Nori and Amaya) and is mixed race, being half Japanese and half Korean (dad is Korean, mom is Japanese). This fact has unfortunately resulted in xenophobic issues with his extended family (particularly his grandparents and other older generations of the family) treating him poorly as a child. Thankfully, it didn't take long for his parents to decide to go no contact with a big chunk of both sides of their family to put his wellbeing first.
Due to the love and support his parents have always given him, it wasn’t hard for him to come out as gay to them.
Unfortunately, classmates and the like were not always as supportive, so Jin-ho did have to deal with some amount of bullying in school. On the bright side, he’s been friends with Naoko since they were in middle school and she just had a natural knack for putting the fear of god into most people that tried to push him around.
In his and Naoko’s final year of high school, he decided to begin a band with her that they called Bright Idea. He’s the drummer and is the one that primarily deals with management (at least until Kyrie joins the group later on). Once they get signed on with a label in their 20s, their group takes off pretty well in popularity.
