I don’t pop onto IG very often these days (outside of side-eyeing Bimong), but I did happen to see that two sellers I followed are moving off of Etsy and instead selling via their IG accounts and I kind of want to scream bloody murder.
Like bruh, you couldn’t pay me to deal with transactions manually through Instagram DMs. Absolutely the most annoying shit. That’s probably the quickest way for me to decide to stop bothering buying from you.
I’m just sick of everyone putting all their eggs into the Instagram basket to hawk their wares. Y’all just as much of the problem as Meta’s random ads. It’s no wonder I stopped using IG because all it is now is ‘BUY THIS FROM ME’ over and over again to a point where I don’t even see genuine posts about someone’s collection anymore. Can’t even use hashtags to look at specific sculpts because Meta decided they needed that basic fucking function to be dogshit too.
Absolute least you could do is put together a webpage with pictures and prices and other info and have an email for orders. Newsletters would be great too.

Honestly, I didn't drift far off from the vibes for their sculpts haha. I clearly had a very specific idea of how their faces looked.

Here's my new surprise arrival! If you missed my post earlier this morning, I got a package from my friend Rae with surprise contents and it ended up being the big version of Asella Raspberry.
I was one of many people that got scammed out of their Asella doll ordered through JpopDolls (in my case I'd ordered a mini Raspberry in coffee skin back in 2020), and had just washed my hands of the whole business (after writing out all details about it on the wiki page for JpopDolls haha). I've had several opportunities to try getting this doll again (via Asella's own preorder for the dolls, as well as potentially buying her secondhand from cesspit, which is the Raspberry I'd fallen in love with originally), but the whole situation soured me so much on the doll I didn't even want her anymore and simply moved on with my collecting. Hell there was even a Raspberry for sale at Resin Rose that I didn't even consider buying. xD
And now I have this girl that my friend surprised me with and jfdkafdsafmdaf. T AT I'm in a box of emotion!
That said, I'm not 100% sure if she'll be sticking around or not. I'd originally planned on making this sculpt into Qianna, but that position has already long since been filled. xD So I'm gonna have to sit with her for a while and get a feel for what kind of look I want for her and all that. Other than the janky knees (and I though my DollsTown Elf girl's knees were bad ahahaha), she's a very lovely lady, and 50cm is my favorite doll height, so I ain't too perturbed by that hahah.
Anyway, here she is wearing Abyss's wig for now because I don't have much of anything else that fits on her big ol' head haha. Not looking forward to the hours I will likely spend this weekend trying on the SD-sized clothes I have on her to get an idea of what does and doesn't fit lmao. That's always the trouble with the odd-sized dolls.
This is why you don't string your dolls impossibly tight.

Bahaha, so here's the other surprise package from my friend, Rae. It's a busted Namihu BJD Creatures Astarion she purchased from them during that charity drive for the dog that ended up dying anyway and HOOOBOY.
Apparently Rae hadn't even opened this package when it arrived since she was busy getting last minute stuff ready for Resin Rose so we have no idea how busted it was prior to her deciding to give it to me, but uh...dayum. Even his little dagger didn't make it in one piece (that I can glue back together though, most likely).
Honestly, even if it didn't arrived broken, this is still such a janky fucking doll. I cannot believe someone would charge people money for this garbage. I've been in the hobby for 15+ years and have owned and handled probably 80+ dolls from various makers and this is by far the worst body I've ever come across. This thing makes Resinsoul bodies seem like a dream in comparison. Absolutely unacceptable level of quality for the amount of cash Namihu charges. Genuinely embarrassing.
On top of the poor joint design, there are tons of cracks everywhere from the printing process. If this is the norm for 3D printed dolls, it's no wonder some faceup and modding artists don't accept commissions for them.
ALSO ALSO, learn how to properly wrap a fucking doll for shipping, Namihu. The taped up monstrosity I opened up was atrocious.
Counting my blessings I didn't bother commissioning Namihu for my CP2077 character's doll head, and it straight up was because the headback looked funky to me in what few pictures they have posted of it. It seemed like it'd have very limited head movement and I was absolutely correct. On top of that, because of how it was designed, it leaves scratches on the front of the neck lmao.

Hoorah...another flood warning. xP Got the Sokai fam packed up with my go bags, just in case we have to evacuate again, but the crest height they're predicting is several feet lower than what the worst case scenario was back in August, so there's a good chance we won't be seeing our entire neighborhood flooded again.
Seriously considering buying some big plastic bins for storing the rest of my collection (and other sentimental items) in for future potential evacuations. You know, something that gives them a chance of surviving a full out disaster haha. They're pretty much the only material objects I have that I'd be seriously heartbroken over losing.
I may or may not have made a financially questionable decision today after finding out Black Cherry Doll reopened preorders for their dolls.

so fyi to fellow enjoyers of russian creators, boosty apparently no longer works with paypal and from what i’ve googled, a lot of banks are now blocking boosty transactions from going through on cards.
i’m trying to pay for my order with black cherry via hipolink and they also no longer have paypal available as a choice (at least when i try to pay it only gives me a card form to fill out). tried doing it via card and just got an error page, so there is a high chance that hipolink is also getting blocked.
so yeah haha cool i probably won’t be able to get what i wanted to order. :)

Ugh, finally got my first payment to go through. Had to get on my laptop, turn the adblocker off, and then my bank had me confirm it was really a payment I was making TWICE via their own fucking app as well as text.
