The following is a post from the-bjd-community-confess blog on Tumblr, and my response to it.
I want to say, I LOVE ResinS0ul, I’m a huge fan of their customer service and their sculpts, everything… HOWEVER…
Why? Why do they have to make the knots at the top of the neck SO big and awkward when the slot in the head where the S hook goes is SO narrow????? Head does not go on unless the knots can be pulled through the hole and I have on several occasions now jacked tf out of my hands trying to get the head on my dolls!!!! Hands down the worst dolls to remove and replace the heads regardless of how tightly strung the dolls are. I don’t know why they don’t recognize this issue as it’s happened with every doll I’ve bought from them and it takes like ten minutes of knot fiddling to get the head on and that doesn’t guarantee I won’t nearly break my fingers pulling the S hook up into the head!
It’s my only real gripe other than one doll I have has this weird hip locking mechanism that does nothing but make it hard for me to switch between sitting and standing.
The first RS doll I bought (my second doll ever) nearly broke my right hand because I didn’t understand what the problem was and I thought that I just wasn’t pulling hard enough. It took at least an hour to solve the problem and get the head back on. The new doll that came yesterday took considerably less time, but the channel in the head is even narrower on this doll and so I couldn’t quite get the knots in the right position on the first several tries. My fingers are now all bruised and I work with my hands so that’s fun :/
I get why the knots are the way they are, but they knot them all the same, so why wouldn’t you widen the slots/channels a little in the heads to accommodate the knots, or if they have some kind of trick to it, then share that trick with their customers. Idk it just makes me dread playing dress up and repainting and stuff with my RS dolls who are my favorite dolls in my collection.

This is why I never recommend Resinsoul to newbies and people that will never be able to bring themselves to take their dolls apart.
Their stringing style has always been jacked up and severely fucks up how well their dolls handle. On top of that, they always use terrible elastic with no pull-back strength, which makes the dolls hella floppy.
Anon, you’re gonna have to take that doll apart, preferably replace the elastic cord, and then restring the doll so no knots are placed in the head (instead it’ll be down in the torso). Practically nobody else selling dolls keeps the knot in the doll’s head because of the problem you’re dealing with. I don’t know why Resinsoul hasn’t caught the fuck up in that regard.
#there’s a few things that frustrate me regarding resinsoul dolls
#but the stringing issues is probably the one that makes me most peeved
#especially because newbies are usually buying these dolls
#and a lot of them aren’t willing to take their dolls apart
