Keigo’s head got back home from Komorebi Dolls and I spent about an hour or two restyling his wig to be moar anime. Planning on messing more with it over the weekend, but it’s looking good so far. :)
Keigo all put together! Chopped the hook off of the neck piece that Fairyland developed to make the wings wearable on their dolls and glued it to his back and it works pretty dang well, if a bit unstable bahaha. I’m planning to track down some magnets to attach to his bust piece and we’ll see if they work fine without the hook (be great if they do since that’ll make dressing him less of an issue).
He also still needs his neck to be sanded down a little bit, but other than that, he’s pretty much complete and looks amazing! Komorebi Dolls did such a wonderful job on his faceup and I’m still blown away at the dye job trilliumbox did on his wings. ; w ;
Leyla also returned from her faceup adventure and fjdkalfjda; she’s so pretty!
She is currently without jointed hands since I wanted to get them dyed to match her, but the Soom hands she had were too dark to color match to her. D; I sold them and have a pair of white ones ordered and I’ll get them dyed once they arrive, but for now, she’ll just have to live with her default oYID hands.
Shortened Keigo’s neck and he looks significantly better now that he doesn’t have giraffe!neck. xD;

I used to make characters and stories with a friend. We had dolls of some of them. They were toxic and a narcissist but I kept making excuses for their behaviour even though there were so many red flags. After a very painful falling out that probably needed to happen, my characters were left in limbo. I never want to tie my characters to anyone else again.

Minus the toxic and narcissist stuff, this coulda been written by me, anon lmao. Especially feel that feel of not wanting to tie your characters and stories up with someone else again. Been over a year now for me since I got dumped by my ex-best friend, and I still am just like, “lol fuck no” when it comes to thinking about trying to roleplay again.
A majority of my characters that I’ve turned into dolls were from mine and my ex-friend’s roleplays and holy shit it sucked having to basically start over. Some of them were easy enough to just not include the exe’s characters anymore and move forward with them, but there is one group of dolls/characters that were so intrinsically tied up with both of our ideas and whatnot, that it’s been a year+ long venture of reimagining the characters and their stories. I even had one of their characters made into a doll as part of my collection. Ended up basically setting the doll aside for several months before deciding to revive an old character of mine to turn the doll into and had to change up her look entirely (new faceup, new wig, got her some new clothes too) before I felt better about the doll.
I’m still reworking the group of characters; it’s been a slow process partly due to just being kinda painful, but also due to just being invested in other stories and pieces of media at the moment bahaha.
But yeah, anyway, I don’t really have anything helpful to say. I always hate seeing “It gets better” slogans slung around for this kind of shit since it feels wholly unhelpful when you’re in the immediate aftermath of a shit storm. All I can really say is it’s completely normal to feel a little “meh” with the characters you two shared, and don’t feel bad if you need to set them aside for a while, or even permanently, to focus on other things that bring you joy. Something that kind of helped me with beginning to rework my crew is that the characters are now 100% mine and no one else’s. I can do whatever I please with their designs and their storylines and not have to keep another person and their feelings in consideration. It is still a little sad not being able to squee about my creations with other people without having to infodump their entire character arc though. xD; Still, it can be kinda freeing and fun in its own way.
Hope you find ways to feel better about about your creations, anon. Friend breakups suck ass to begin with without including things like shared interests and hobbies that were tied up into the friendship.

Changed up Naoko’s and Keigo’s outfits last week. Think this would be stuff they’d wear on a casual day out together.
Also, thanks to how much I love these glasses on Naoko, I decided she does need prescription glasses to see, she just usually she wears contacts (particularly for band stuff like gigs and interviews and whatnot).
I’m thinking these two meet via photoshoots and whatnot. Hawks is a top 10 hero so I’m sure he gets dragged in to get his picture taken for merch and magazines and whatnot plenty of times. So he meets the band through things like that and ends up shooting the shit with them all between getting harassed by photographers.
Been messing around a bit with Qianna and humhawing about her hair. I REALLY love the bleach/nearly white blonde look on her, but i prefer the style of the dark blonde wig I have (and I’d get this wig in a lighter color but lol Monique is no longer in business and Tanesha wigs are impossible to find). Went through several days of obsessive searching of wigs and finally saw that Facets Boutique had a bleach blonde curly hair wig available in the right size and the style is something I can work with (might actually end up liking it more because the Aubrey style doesn’t have a sort of…fringe/bangs look that the Tanesha style has). It’s in the mail towards me now and I can’t wait to get it and try it on her~! I also REALLY want to get her repainted, but gotta put it off until I got money built back up in my checking account.
Annnnd Vergil is waiting on a new wig to come in the mail. Ended up not liking the pure white look on him, so got him a gray soy wig instead. It’s from SalmonellaArt on Etsy and she always makes really nice soy wigs! But yeah, bask in his beauty…and how freakishly big he looks next to petite-ass Qianna lmao. It works for the characters since Vergil is canonically fucking huge (6 foot 4 inches wtf).
Been so obsessed with Keigo that I failed to give Leyla some proper lovin’ since she and the boys got back home. xD;

Just spent a few hours writing up background info for Qianna’s profile post. Pretty much got her teen years written down, now I gotta try and work on everything that happens after the event in DMC3 lmao. OTL

Qiqi’s new wig arrived yesterday, but nobody checked the mail and my app didn’t inform me of the delivery. xD; So I didn’t grab the package until this morning before work and ended up taking Qianna with me bahaha. Also got a new pair of shoes along with the wig that Keigo is now wearing.
Got some things in the mail yesterday from SMPdoll’s preorder from April…I think?
Got a pair of jeans special for Qianna, a dress and 2 bodysuits for Kyrie, and a skirt for Tris. The body suits are also super stretchy so I can actually fit Tris in them. XD I don’t think I’ll keep the green one on her though since I don’t want the fabric to get all screwy from being stretched out too much. Kinda meh about the skirt at the moment mostly because everyone that does high waist stuff for Roze bodies seems to think they gotta be up-to-the-tits high. They really just need to be a bit over the belly button and you’re good.
More pictures of my girls looking fab. Qianna really looking like she could be a character in Devil May Cry, imo (not that it’s too difficult to, their outfits are blessedly pretty simple for the most part—other than nerds like Vergil lmao). All she needs is some holsters for daggers/throwing knives and a strap for her rifle. And Kyrie looking simple and sexy in her new dress. Her hair is also hella wavy since I’ve had the wig in braids for months. xD; Been really tempted to chop into her wig since I did such a horrid job with it after first making it. We’ll see; she might just be due for a new wig to be made for her. xP
so i accidentally broke part of the sniper rifle i got for qianna. might be able to fix it with resin glue or something, but i’m not really too mussed about it because now I’m thinking she’ll probably just have a pistol + knives lmao. spied some kunai on shapeways that i may order along with some other pieces i found on there. reminded me that i also need to commission someone to sculpt and print the yamato sword. Px
the original plan was to go with synthetic ephemera, but i keep going back and forth on that because getting a hold of them seems to be hit or miss for me. i actually planned to commission them for hawks’s wings, but they stopped replying to my email chain for that and then dde stocked up on the pegasus wings so i ended up going with those. don’t know if my emails to them get lost in the inbox or end up in their junk mail, but it’s terribly frustrating having to send a second email to ask if the first got to someone. buuuuut she did quick and good work and was friendly in the emails she DID respond to back when i commissioned her for medicine seller’s props…but man i’m so burnt out on iffy communication from people i try to buy stuff from. OTL
if anyone has any recommendations for 3D sculptors + printers that take commissions, let me know please and thanks!
